| Greetings brothers and sisters:
As some of you may know, I am preparing for another medical mission trip. Only this time it is to Guatemala and not Vietnam. I, along with 6 medical students and one post-doctoral fellow, 9 medical providers and physicians will be going on the trip. We are partnering with a church based in Yonkers called Mission United Church for this medical missions trip. They have contacts of the various churches in the Guatemala and especially in the areas we will be setting up the clinic.
We will leave New York to Miami, FL, and then to Guatemala City (Guatemala's Capital) on April 17. We will then travel by van to a very rural mountainous town called El rodeo. El rodeo is near some extinct volcanoes. After two days, we will travel to a modern town called Antigua where we will spend the reminder of our trip. In both cities, we will set up clinics during the day and fellowship with the churches at night. We estimate that we will see a total of about 1000 people. We will then return to New York on April 22. This trip will be my spring break.
That's a brief description of the trip and I will update you on the trip after I return to New York. We are pretty much packed with minor details to work out. There have been some problems regarding the packing but I definitely trust that God will smooth things out according to His plan for this trip.
The most important thing I would like to request from all of you is diligent prayer for this trip; I believe you will be faithful. Some general things to pray for on this trip include the following:
1)Continual proclamation of the name of Jesus Christ as the world's only savior; this is our ultimate objective.
2)Spiritual growth, safety, and protection because the devil will surely try to interfere with the mission trip; obstacles are already being encountered but God has already won!
3)Physical safety and protection while traveling as well as from the various tropical diseases such as malaria, typhoid, and parasitic, bacterial, and viral diseases.
4)Group cooperatively because some of the medical physicians are not Christian; pray that this trip would bear witness to the non-believing physicians so that they may come to know Christ through His body of believers.
5)Life on mission trips is all about being out of our comfort/familiar zones while we personally share to others about Jesus. We will be tired and weary; we will show our true colors. Please pray for the group's unity as a demonstration of God's love through forgiveness and being able to bear one anothers burdens.
I want to also request personal prayers as well. This will be my 2nd time going on a medical missions trip and I believe it will not be my last. Please keep me in prayer about my future ministry in the medical missions field. Please pray that I will be bold when spreading God's name and that the language and cultural barriers would be overcome. There will be much more obstacles that we will encounter. As you see, with man alone, such barriers cannot be overcome but with God all things are possible (Matt 19.26).
A fellow brother in God's family, David Nguyen April 16, 2006 At the completion of this writing it will be 28 HRS to Medical Mission Commencement.

| Confusion seems to arise from some missing pictures. That's actually Frank who is post Vietnam at the beginning. I had one of myself as well but it apparently didn't get posted as I would like. Oh well. Have a good day and God Bless. | | |
| Greetings Xanga Readers,
it's been awhile since my last update.
Current activities: I'm attending ECF (Einstein Christian Fellowship) which had a retreat in Connect-i-cut this last weekand (Oct. 7-9) and I remembered to take my camera. Hopefully this upload process of pictures will work.
I'm also attending a church called NEWLIFE. It's a multiethic church in Queens. Pictures not available. The time constraint and the learning curve here at Einstein do not permit me to be heavily involved at the church. I attend it once every sunday though I'm still looking for churches. No established contact with the vietnamese churches has occurred.
Med school here at Einstein is going as planned. Thanks for all your prayers in this endeavor of my life. I continually miss you guys and even more the food especially In and Out. Good stuff. This white castle thing does not compare to it.
BEGIN PICTURES:
Pre-NY
Two options are presented here. Either my dear brother does not want me to head off to med school or I just hit him really hard. We have our occasional horseplaying. Us brothers need to vent excess energy.
This is me post-Vietnam. Tan and in need of a proper haircut.
Brothers chilling by the view of an artificial lake at the Wayne hotel in Vegas.
Frank, you wish. 8)
Last night in Vegas. Eating at the top of the world at Stratosphere. View was nice. Dinner was expensive.
Hmmm....No pics of NY. They'll be available in the next update.
Post Connect-i-cut
It's worship time. I'm also loosing my tan. It appears that this is characteristic of the upper east coast.
Prepping for lake advanture.
Fell into the lake on the left side of that island. There goes 50% of my clothes for the weekand. The water tasted great comparatively to bottle mineral water with alittle something extra. mmmm. Good upper east coast water.
It's a sturdy bridge...I think 8)
Here's a typical nice Connect-i-cut tree that's representative of the east. I have to admit the trees have greater color spectrum then on the green/brown west coast.
The woods of American History. Those berries over there look pretty tasty. 8o
Alright, that fulfilles my update for awhile. Hopefully I'll remember to take more pictures.
I'm coming back around thanksgiving so im me with some food/chilling time plans.
